EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT Executive Vice President, Richard Crawford, brings a diverse and heavily qualified background to Global HR Research’s executive leadership team and an established reputation of professionalism.
Crawford graduated from Villanova University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and since has compiled an extensive career, including over 25 years of exceptional service as an agent and administrator of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Crawford began his career in New York in 1972 with DEA’s predecessor agency, the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD). In his time with the bureau, he was responsible for the completion of numerous international drug-trafficking and money laundering investigations. Crawford also gained experience on an international scale where he directed undercover assignments in Colombia, Panama, Guatemala, Jamaica and Italy. In 1987 he became the only US agent to ever testify in Colombia against the cartel, when he testified at a trial against the heads of the Cali Cartel.
In 1992, Crawford was promoted to supervisory agent and transferred to Fort Myers, where he was in charge of DEA operations for Southwest Florida. Mr. Crawford served as the Agent-in-Charge of DEA’s Fort Myers resident office and the DEA Naples task force until his retirement in 1997.
Prior to his DEA service, Crawford served from 1968-1971 as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. His tenure includes a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969-1970 where he served as a platoon commander and company commander of an infantry unit C Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. Due to his exceptional service, he was awarded two Bronze Star Medals, the Purple Heart, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Combat Action Ribbon, and Vietnamese Campaign Medal.
Most recently, Crawford has worked as a security consultant and private investigator, specializing in corporate security investigations (white collar crime), substance abuse testing, law enforcement support, claims investigations and management, as well as litigation support. For the past 2 years Mr. Crawford has worked as a security representative for the National Basketball Association (NBA) assigned to the NBA Development League. Currently Mr. Crawford serves on the board of directors for the DEA survivors benefit fund and has aided in raising over 9 million dollars dedicated to the survivors of lost agents.
